Humerus Halloween T-Shirt Using Cricut Iron-on
If you love making your own seasonal shirts, this Halloween Cricut project is such a fun one. This DIY tee features iron-on vinyl and a funny phrase that’s perfect for anyone who loves a good pun: “I Found This Humerus.” Paired with a ghost and bone design, it makes a cute and playful shirt to wear all October long.
To get started, pick out the shirt color you want to use along with your iron-on vinyl colors. Classic Halloween shades like black, orange, purple, and white always look great, but a neutral shirt can also work really well and help the design stand out even more. For this shirt, I’m using white iron-on vinyl on a dark tee because I love the contrast and how much it makes the design pop.

Once you’ve got your shirt and iron-on picked out, the next step is to set up your project in Cricut Design Space. For my shirt, I uploaded my own SVG design. I used a file like this one from Etsy, which worked great for this project. If you do not have your own design, don’t worry - there are also plenty of similar options you can find through a Cricut Access subscription.
If you’re using your own SVG, uploading it into Cricut Design Space is really easy. Just open Design Space, click Upload on the left-hand side, and then choose Upload Image. From there, find the SVG file on your computer and select it. Once it loads in, you can add it right to your Canvas and start sizing it for your shirt.
Go ahead and make your project by cutting the design from white iron-on heat transfer vinyl. Since I’m using a dark shirt, the white vinyl really stands out and makes the design easy to see. Before you cut, make sure your design is mirrored in Cricut Design Space, then place the iron-on shiny side down on your mat. Once everything is loaded and ready, let your machine cut the design.
Once your design is done cutting, it’s time to weed away the extra vinyl using your favorite weeding tool. This is the step where you carefully remove all the pieces you don’t need, leaving just the actual design on the carrier sheet.
Now it’s time to press the iron-on vinyl onto your shirt using your Cricut heat press. Before pressing, make sure your shirt is smooth and your design is placed exactly where you want it. Then use your heat press to apply the design, following the recommended time and temperature settings for your specific materials. I always suggest checking the Cricut Heat Guide, or the Cricut Heat app if you’re using one of the app-connected heat press machines, since it takes the guesswork out and helps you get the best results.
That’s it - your Halloween shirt is ready to wear! Before you toss it in the wash, Cricut recommends waiting 24 hours after application so the iron-on has time to fully set. After that, wash and tumble dry the shirt inside out for the best results, and do not bleach. If the shirt needs ironing later, only iron it on the back side of the garment, not directly over the design. Following those simple care steps will help your iron-on design stay looking great longer.
What makes this design so fun is the pun. “I Found This Humerus” is the kind of phrase that makes people do a double take and then laugh when they get it. It’s silly, clever, and perfect for Halloween parties, school events, pumpkin patch visits, or just wearing around town during spooky season.
