Vacation Travel Tracking Using Cricut Wood Veneer

Summer is the perfect time for adventure, and what better way to capture your travels than with a DIY travel tracker? This project, made with Cricut Natural Wood Veneer, lets you create a beautiful, personalized map to showcase the places you’ve been - or dream of visiting! Plus, it's a great excuse to break out your Cricut and try something new!

Materials:

• Cricut Natural Wood Veneer
• Cricut Strong Grip Cutting Mat
• Cricut Deep Point Blade
• Cricut Iron-on, black
• Cricut Heat Press Machine
• 12x12 inch cork sheet
• Cricut Explore or Maker Series Cutting Machine

You'll need one 12x12 inch sheet of veneer for this project. You'll cut the veneer in the outlines of the states using your Cricut Explore or Maker series cutting machine. A piece of cork cut to the same size as the veneer using a craft knife will serve as the base of the project.

Just follow the prompts in Design Space to make the project! Cut the map design from Cricut Natural Wood Veneer using a deep-point blade and a StrongGrip mat.

Gently remove the veneer from the mat by flipping it over onto a clean surface. With the cut veneer facing down, slowly roll the mat away, letting the design stay on the table.

Cut the adventure saying and compass from black Cricut Iron-on, then weed out the excess vinyl. Once it's ready, position the designs on the front of the map. Use your Cricut EasyPress Mini to apply the iron-on, making sure to follow the recommended heat and time settings for the best results.

Attach the front map design to the base using your favorite contact adhesive. Apply the glue evenly to ensure a strong bond, then carefully place the pieces together, making sure everything lines up correctly. Press down firmly and let it dry completely before handling.

Add some decorative push pins to mark the places you've traveled! Simply press them into the map at each destination you've visited. You can use different colors or styles of pins to represent past trips, dream destinations, or special memories. It's a fun way to personalize your map and keep track of your adventures!
