Looking for a unique and heartfelt gift to show your appreciation for your teacher? Why not create a personalized shadow box featuring your teacher's name and colorful crayons? This DIY project is easy, fun, and sure to make your teacher feel special.
If you're like me and you're working with a used shadow box, the first step is to detach the back.
Remove the existing text printed on the inside of the box glass using nail polish remover.
Cut a piece of white cardstock the same size as the shadow box back. Glue the cardstock to the inside of the box back to provide a clean white space to display the crayons.
Figure the number of crayons needed to cover the inside of the box back and determine a pleasing color line up. Glue the crayons to the box back in a staggered arrangement using hot glue.
Create your cut design in Cricut Design Space. Add text to your canvas to make your teacher's name using any font that you'd like. Size the name to fit the center of the shadow box. Because you'll be applying the name to the inside of the shadow box, flip the name horizontally on the canvas so the text direction is reversed. Make the project, cutting the name from white vinyl.
Weed the vinyl using a Cricut Weeder Tool. Cut a small piece of Cricut Transfer Tape slightly larger than the cut vinyl and use it to transfer the name to the inside of the shadow box glass. Burnish well using a Cricut Scraper Tool.
Reassemble the box and there you have it! Your personalized shadow box teacher appreciation gift is complete. This thoughtful and unique present is sure to make your teacher feel valued and appreciated. Remember, the best gifts are often the ones made with love and care. Happy crafting!
