Hello Michele,
Great question! If you are using a infusible ink wrap there are some sticky tabs on the side that will stick to the mug. Or you are able to use Cricut Heat resistant tape to secure it to the mug.

So when you use transfer tape, you don’t mirror the vinyl when you cut it out?.
