Glitter Motivational Pens Using Cricut Vinyl

If you’re looking for a fun, easy craft that adds a little sparkle and positivity to your day, you’re going to love this project! Today, I’m showing you how to make your own glitter motivational pens using Cricut vinyl. These are perfect for gifting, adding to your desk setup, or just keeping on hand for a little boost of inspiration whenever you need it. 

Materials:

• Cricut Vinyl in black and white
• Cricut Transfer Tape
• Cricut Tool Kit
• Pens with a clear barrel (I'm using Pentel RSVP Fine Ballpoint Pens)
• Clear acrylic medium like Polycyclic or Mod Podge
• Glitter

Directions:

You can get the writing off the side of your pens by gently rubbing it with some rubbing alcohol.

Take off the end cap of the pen, and then use a pipette to carefully add a small amount of clear acrylic medium into the hollow part of the barrel. Once it’s in there, gently twirl or rotate the pen to make sure the inside gets evenly coated.

Pick your favorite color of glitter and pour a little into the pen barrel. An easy trick is to use a piece of scrap paper as a funnel - it helps guide the glitter in without making a mess. Once you’ve added enough, just pop the end cap back on the pen to seal it up.

You can create your own motivational phrase designs right in Cricut Design Space, or if you prefer, you can just jump straight into this project I've already set up. For mine, I’m using the BFC Birthday Party font - it’s one of the fun ones included with Cricut Access.

Go ahead and start making the project by cutting out the motivational phrases from Cricut vinyl. Just load your vinyl into the machine, follow the prompts in Design Space, and let the Cricut do the work. 

Once your phrases are cut, go ahead and weed the vinyl - that just means removing the extra pieces you don’t need, leaving only the letters.

Then, use some Cricut Transfer Tape to carefully pick up the vinyl and place it onto the side of your pen. Press it down firmly so it sticks well, and then slowly peel off the transfer tape.

And that’s it - your glittery motivational pens are ready to shine! Whether you’re keeping them for yourself or sharing them with friends, they’re sure to bring a little joy and inspiration wherever they go.
