Valentine Waffle Knit Shirt Using Cricut Iron-On

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to create something sweet and heartfelt - and what better way to show a little love than with a custom-made shirt? In this fun and easy Cricut project, we’re making an adorable Valentine’s Day tee featuring the alphabet with a playful twist: “I ♥ U” highlighted right in the middle! Using Cricut Iron-On vinyl and your heat press machine, you’ll be able to bring this charming design to life in just a few simple steps.

Materials:

  • Cricut Iron-on, white and red
  • Cricut Tool Kit
  • Cricut Heat Press Machine
  • Shirt (I'm using a pink waffle knit tee.)

Go ahead and start by cutting out the letters for your project using white and red Cricut Iron-on vinyl. Once your Cricut machine has finished cutting, it’s time to weed the design - that means carefully removing the extra vinyl around the letters, so only your cut design remains. This step gets everything ready for transferring!

Start by placing your iron-on design right in the center of your shirt - take your time to line it up just the way you want it. When you're happy with the placement, grab your Cricut Heat Press and follow the recommended settings using the Cricut Heat Guide or the Cricut Heat App, depending on which press you're working with. These tools will walk you through the exact temperature, pressure, and timing needed for your specific materials.

Begin by transferring the white lettering first. Once you’ve applied the heat, let it cool down before gently peeling away the clear carrier sheet.

Next, it’s time to add the red lettering. Position it carefully over your shirt design. Before you apply heat again, be sure to cover the entire design - including the already-transferred white letters - with the original carrier sheet or a sheet of parchment paper. This will protect the white vinyl while you're pressing the red. Once everything is covered and in place, press the red letters following the same heat guide instructions.

And that’s it - your super cute Valentine’s Day shirt is all done! It’s such a simple project, but it makes a big impact, especially with that sweet “I ♥ U” message tucked into the alphabet. Whether you wear it to celebrate the day or gift it to someone you love, it’s sure to bring a smile. I hope you had fun making it! If you try this project, I’d love to see how yours turns out! Happy crafting and happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️
