Balsa Wood Tree Ornaments Using Your Cricut

Materials:

  • Balsa wood
  • Decoupage glue
  • Scrapbook paper or recycled Christmas cards
  • Acrylic paint, black
  • Vinyl, white

 

Directions:

Attach paper to thin balsa wood using decoupage glue. Cut out a simple tree shape using Cricut Maker or a craft knife.

Paint the edges and back of the ornament black using acrylic paint.

Create a simple date design for the back of the ornament in Cricut Design Space. Cut and weed the vinyl.

Apply the design to the back of the ornament using transfer tape.

Thread an embroidery size needle with thin hanging cord and poke a hole in the top of the ornament for hanging.

Where can you buy balsa wood so many ornament patters specify this but I can not find it in the right sizes
