Directions:

Create your cut design in Cricut Design Space or go directly to this project. I'm using the following cut designs included with Cricut Access:

  • Skeleton Hand #M4BF93E3C
  • Skeleton #M4D10C297

Make the project, cutting the hands and eyes from Cricut Glow-in-the-Dark Vinyl and the cake topper background from black Cricut Adhesive Cardstock. Be sure to browse and select "glow-in-the-dark vinyl" in the materials list when cutting the vinyl. Glow-in-the-dark vinyl is thicker than regular vinyl and your Cricut machine may make 2 passes when cutting.

How to use Cricut Transfer Tape to move Cricut Vinyl to a surface:

  1. Weed the vinyl using your favorite Cricut Weeder Tool. Weeding means removing any excess vinyl around your design.
  2. Apply a piece of transfer tape to your weeded vinyl design. Use a Cricut Scraper Tool to burnish, or smooth, the transfer tape onto the vinyl.
  3. Gently peel the transfer tape (with the vinyl design on it) away from the vinyl backing sheet.
  4. Position your vinyl design on your surface. Once you're happy with the placement, burnish the transfer tape again to adhere the vinyl to the surface.
  5. Slowly peel the transfer tape away from the vinyl design at an angle. Be careful not to lift the vinyl design with the transfer tape. If any vinyl seems to be lifting with the transfer tape, simply lay it back down and burnish it again before peeling off the transfer tape.

Glass

Use transfer tape to apply the medium-size skeleton hand to the side of the glass. I'm using a glass with straight sides, so application is easy and straightforward. If you're using a wine glasses or other cup with a rounded shape, check out these tips for applying adhesive vinyl to curved surfaces.

Placemat

Transfer the large skeleton hand and eyeballs to a cardstock placemat using transfer tape. Or, for a more durable mat, cut the placemat from a 13 inch square of smooth black vinyl fabric from your local fabric store.

Cupcake Topper

As before, use transfer tape to apply the small cut hands to the black cardstock peel-and-stick backgrounds. Sandwich a toothpick between 2 backgrounds to create one cupcake topper.
