Today I’m combining felt flowers with a simple vinyl mason jar decal to create a charming decorative piece. And the best part is, you’re going to love how Cricut Maker’s Rotary Blade makes cutting felt a breeze, giving you clean, precise cuts every time. Plus, you can customize the base however you like!
I'm using a wood tile as the base for my felt flowers, and I’ve added a white vinyl jar decal to give it a nice touch. But honestly, you can get creative and use whatever base you like - whether it’s a wooden plaque, a canvas, or even a framed piece of fabric. The flowers will look great no matter how you arrange them!
Create your cut design in Cricut Design Space or go directly to this project.
I'm using the following 3D rolled flower cut designs: M3D7E1, M3CBDF, and M295B547. These 2 cut designs make up the mason jar: M4B502F88 and M3FE79144.
Follow the prompts in Design Space to make the project, cutting the flowers from Cricut Felt using Cricut Rotary Blade in your Maker series cutting machine.
Make sure to use a Cricut Fabric Grip Mat to keep everything in place while cutting for the best results.
Cut the mason jar design from Cricut Vinyl. Once it's cut, weed the vinyl by carefully removing the excess material around your design. Then, use Cricut Transfer Tape to pick up the design and smoothly transfer it onto your base. Take your time pressing it down so everything sticks well, and then gently peel away the transfer tape to reveal your finished design!
To assemble the flowers, take your Cricut tweezers and start rolling the flower from the outer edge toward the center. Keep it nice and tight as you go, adjusting the shape as needed. Once you reach the center, secure everything in place with a little bit of hot glue on the base. Hold it for a few seconds to make sure it sticks.
Once your flowers are assembled, it's time to arrange them on your base! Play around with the placement over the mason jar decal until you get a look you love. Once you're happy with the arrangement, use hot glue to attach each flower, pressing them down gently to make sure they stick. Let everything dry completely before moving or displaying your project!
With just a few simple steps, you’ve created a beautiful, handmade piece that’s perfect for decorating your space or gifting to someone special. The best part? You can easily customize it by changing up the colors, base, or even the flower styles to make it truly your own. I’d love to see how yours turns out, so feel free to share your creations. Happy crafting!
Here's another version of this project - but for fall!
Create a wreath for your front door or as a wall hanging by arranging your felt flowers into a beautiful circular design. Use a foam wreath form or even a wooden hoop as the base, and glue the flowers in layers to give it a full, vibrant look. You can customize the colors for each season to make it a year-round decoration!
Turn your felt flowers into a stunning piece of wall art. Create a flower garden on a canvas or wooden board for a lovely, textured display. You can even frame the design or use a shadow box to add depth. Customize the colors to match your room's theme for a unique touch to your home décor.
