Spooky Halloween Bottle Decor Using Cricut Print Then Cut

Looking for a Halloween craft that is spooky, cute, and surprisingly easy to make? These DIY Halloween potion bottles are such a fun way to add a little glow to your Halloween decor. Clear bottles are filled with glass floral gems and mini fairy lights, then finished with Cricut Print Then Cut labels like Snake Venom, Witches Brew, and other creepy potion-inspired designs.

They look great on a mantel, entry table, tiered tray, party table, or anywhere you want a little Halloween magic. The best part is that the labels are made with your Cricut machine, so they look polished without needing to hand-letter anything.

Directions:

Before You Start

Make sure your bottles are clean and dry before applying the labels. If there is dust, oil, or residue on the glass, the sticker paper or vinyl may not stick as well. A quick wipe with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel works great. Let the bottles dry completely before adding your labels.

You will also want to check that your fairy lights are battery operated and small enough to fit inside the bottle opening. If the battery pack does not fit inside the bottle, you can leave it hidden behind the bottle when displaying.

Step 1: Open the Cricut Design Space Project

Start by opening the ready-made Cricut Design Space project for these Halloween labels. You can use the project link here: Cricut Design Space project.

Once the project opens in Design Space, take a look at the label designs and decide which ones you want to use. You can resize the labels if needed to fit your bottles.

Before cutting, measure the flat front area of each bottle. This will help you size the labels so they look balanced and are not too large for the glass.

Step 2: Print the Halloween Labels

Once your labels are sized the way you want, select Make It in Cricut Design Space. Since these are Print Then Cut designs, Cricut will first send the label artwork to your home printer.

Follow the on-screen prompts in Design Space. Make sure your Cricut Printable Sticker Paper or Printable Vinyl is loaded into your printer correctly so the design prints on the printable side.

For the best results, use your printer’s highest-quality print setting. This helps the spooky label details print clearly and makes the finished bottles look more professional.

Print the labels using your home printer. After printing, allow the ink to dry for a few minutes before placing the sheet on your Cricut cutting mat. This is especially helpful if you are using printable vinyl, since the ink can sometimes smudge if handled too quickly.

Place the printed sheet onto your mat, lining it up carefully in the top corner. Smooth it down with your hands, a scraper tool, or a brayer so it is flat and secure.

Step 3: Cut the Labels with Your Cricut Machine

Load the mat into your Cricut machine and continue following the prompts in Design Space. Your Cricut will read the registration marks around the printed design and then cut around each label. When the cut is finished, unload the mat and carefully remove the sheet.

Peel away the extra sticker paper or vinyl around the labels. Then gently lift each label from the backing.

Step 4: Apply the Labels to the Bottles

Apply one label to the front of each clear bottle. Start by lining up the center of the label, then smooth it outward to help avoid wrinkles or bubbles. If your bottle is curved, go slowly. Press the label down a little at a time instead of sticking the whole thing on at once. Use your fingers or a scraper tool to smooth the label into place.

Step 5: Fill the Bottles with Glass Gems and Fairy Lights

Carefully insert the mini battery-operated fairy lights into each bottle.

Then add the clear glass floral gems around the lights. The gems help reflect the light and give the bottle a magical potion-like sparkle. You can add more or fewer gems depending on the look you want. More gems will create a fuller, crystal-like effect, while fewer gems will let the fairy lights stand out more.

Once the bottle is filled, seal the bottle with the lid or cork.

Halloween Placemats with Cricut Vinyl Stencils

Make custom Halloween placemats using Cricut vinyl as a paint mask. Cut spooky designs like bats, ghosts, pumpkins, spider webs, or Halloween sayings from removable vinyl, then apply the vinyl to plain placemats. Paint over the design, let it dry, and peel away the vinyl to reveal a crisp, custom look.

This is a fun way to make Halloween table decor that feels handmade but still looks polished. Try using black, orange, white, or metallic paint for a classic Halloween color palette.

Halloween Nail Decals with Cricut Vinyl

Add a tiny touch of Halloween to your manicure with DIY nail decals made from Cricut vinyl. Cut small shapes like bats, stars, ghosts, moons, spiders, or pumpkins, then apply them to painted nails for a quick festive look.

Because the designs are small, simple shapes work best. Finish with a clear top coat to help seal the vinyl and keep the decals in place longer. This is a great project for using up small vinyl scraps from other Halloween crafts.

Send a little spooky surprise with handmade Halloween insert cards. Cricut insert cards make it easy to create layered designs without needing a lot of extra supplies. Choose Halloween images or phrases like “Boo,” “Happy Halloween,” “Trick or Treat,” or “Spooky Wishes,” then let your Cricut machine do the cutting.

These cards are perfect for party invitations, teacher gifts, treat bags, or mailing to friends and family. Use bold Halloween colors like black, orange, purple, green, or silver to make the designs pop.
